What we store
- Your account email and a securely hashed password.
- Your career profile, résumés, and cover letters.
- Job postings you add and any cached job-posting content.
- Your subscription status (payments are handled by a payment processor).
How AI uses your data
When you generate or tailor documents, the relevant text is sent to a third-party AI provider to produce your results. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Exporting your data
You can export your résumés and cover letters as DOCX or PDF files at any time from each document's page. The files contain real, editable text.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete your account from your account page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It removes your profile, every résumé and cover letter, every job posting you saved, and your usage history. It also cancels any active subscription so you are not billed again; if that cancellation does not go through, we tell you straight away rather than letting you find out on your next statement.
One thing does not go with it, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise: our payment processor (Stripe) keeps its own record of any payment you made, including your name, email address, and the transactions themselves. Businesses are required to retain financial records, so we cannot delete those, and neither can you through us. If you want to know exactly what they hold, ask us and we will tell you.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run ResumeHarbor: a third-party AI provider, a payment processor, and hosting/database providers. We do not sell your data.
